How to use it

  1. Drop a picture. Simple shapes with strong contrast trace best.
  2. Pick one color for cut files and silhouettes, or several for illustrations. Move the cut-off until the preview looks right.
  3. Download the SVG, or copy its code.

Good to know

  • For laser or vinyl cutting, use one color and a high-contrast picture. Clean up the shape in your design software before you cut.
  • Photos do not trace well. They turn into blobs of flat color. Use a drawing, logo or silhouette.
  • Pictures over about 1000 pixels are shrunk before tracing. The SVG still scales to the original size.
  • More colors means more shapes and a bigger file. Start with four to six.
  • Raise "Remove tiny specks" to hide dust and scan noise.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The work happens inside your browser, on your own device, so your files never reach our server. The page does load ads from third parties, but they cannot see your files.

What is an SVG?

A picture described by shapes and curves instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. Most laser, vinyl and CNC software opens it, and so do browsers and design programs.

Why are my edges slightly rough?

Tracing follows pixels. Start from a bigger, cleaner picture, choose "Fine" accuracy, and leave "Round off corners" on.

Can I trace any logo?

Tracing does not change who owns a design. Only trace artwork you have the right to use.
